In a vase on Monday: Fussy but fragrant

Each Monday Cathy at Rambling In The Garden encourages us to share a vase highlighting what is growing in our gardens.

Today's vase is fussy but fragrant and contains three each of flowering blackcurrant, Bowles mauve, Viburnum with foliage of trusty Abelia and Hebes with old perfume bottles, which I collect, in the forefront.

Thanks to Cathy at Rambling In The Garden for hosting and giving us an opportunity to share flower-filled vases across the world. Visit her to discover what she and others found to place In A Vase On Monday.

  1. Lovely vase. Fragrance is so important, and the icing on the cake!

    1. I love the fragrance of flowers as you pass a vase in the house. Much better than diffusers, in my opinion.

  2. Beautiful!
Funny - I recognised the Trésor bottle instantly, even before enlarging the picture and reading the name, although I have never owned this particular perfume myself.

    1. The Tresor bottle belonged to my Aunt and, if I open it, I can still smell the scent and it brings back memories.

  3. What a selection of flowering shrubs you have, Linda - I know what you mean about fussy but admittedly I am looking at many of these in a different lightbecause of their fragrance or just their colourfulness in a vase. By the way, is it possible for you to post bigger pictures? I discovered fairly recently that posting smaller pictures does not mean you are using any less space on your blog, as the resolution is the same - I used to keep my pictures smaller at one time but have now learned how to reduce the resolution instead

    1. Good point about enlarging the pictures.

  4. It's very pretty and not so very fussy. I expect the fragrance is wonderful. You just reminded me that there's some jasmine hanging over the fence that I should avail myself of in making up a future vase.
