In a vase on Monday

I couldn't find many flowers today, but put together variegated Ivy, Sedum and the highly scented Honeysuckle which has flourished since the last rains.

Note to self:  Plant some more colourful Asters and some Japanese Anemones to extend the season.

In a Vase on Monday is a weekly tradition started by Cathy. Click on the link to find out what is still flowering in gardens At the end of September and perhaps post a vase of your own.

  1. Asters, Dahlias and Chrysanthemums are thriving around here; there is one garden in particular where I walk past almost every day and which has the most gorgeous flowers every year in autumn.
    Your bouquet looks very elegant!

    1. Some of my Dahlias haven't even flowered yet!

  2. This just shows how quite run of the mill garden occupants can combine to form a pleasing little posy - and they are all such reliably good do-ers, aren't they?! I am just dipping into asters now, having avoided them because they are often tall (I don't do tall!) and gangly and ugly, but have made a couple of selective purchases this year. Have your non-flowering dahlias made sizeable plants this year, or have they been struggling generally? I must admit some of mine performed very poorly this year too

    1. The dahlias have quite a lot of foliage, some regrown after being nibbled by pests, but they are in pots.

  3. The honeysuckle brightens up the other elements beautifully!.

In a Vase on Monday

Slim pickings this week.  A Dahlia which has flowered at long last, variegated Vinca and Weigela and Winter Jasmine. Also, my kind of fire...
