Writing

2024

As part of this year's Writing on Air festival, my piece entitled It was the best of times, it was the worst of times is included in an anthology by Yaffle Press

The Wordsmiths/Big Ideas by the Sea Competition

Delighted that my poem (which begins like this) has been chosen:

This space

In this space between ever changing coastline and sea

The inner child is rediscovered flying a brightly coloured kite,

Paddling and splashing in the white-capped waves

Scrambling up cliffs or skimming smooth stones.

"It's my pleasure to let you know that the judges have deliberated and decided that your poem is one of the winners. We would be delighted if you could come along to our event at the Craft Bar on Sunday 19th May to read your poem to our audience. The event begins at 5.0pm and ends at 7.00pm. It would be a pleasure to welcome you there and listen to your reading."

2023

My piece has been included in the anthology "Missing"  launching on 24th September 2023 as part of the Writing on Air 2023 festival at ChapelFM by Yaffle Press

I have some work in this anthology of short stories, freely available here

I am part of a team who produce and write content for a programme at an arts based centre housed in a converted chapel. https://www.chapelfm.co.uk/  This amazing space has a café area and recording studios plus a performance area on the first floor.  People of all ages and abilities make such good use of it that we are extending into the neighbouring building as we speak.

Our monthly programme is called The Deli and offers fiction, nonfiction, poetry, music and discussion and back episodes can be heard https://www.chapelfm.co.uk/elfm-player/archive/2019/07/deli-77/

Sunday 27th November 2022 - My short story is included in Writing on Air festival THE DELI Special edition of the longest-running East Leeds FM show. Writing, music, and wit from the Deli team

Other stories, plays and poems of mine can be seen here:
