Ghost story

Ghost stories are not my genre although with my surname you would think so! I am joining Loren and the I Saw Lightning Fall community for yet another round of shared storytelling using just 100 words.

It doesn't bode well

No Christmas tree to be had, never mind any gifts in festive wrapping to place beneath it. Bird ‘flu has scuppered any chance of a traditional turkey. However we would have no means cook it as any surplus items have been used as kindling for warmth so we must rely on what meagre pickings we have foraged. Sadly there is no chance of family being able to travel to visit us. If this vision of gloom and doom is the Ghost of Christmas Future, let us remember the Ghost of Christmases past and cherish the Ghost of Christmas Present.

In a Vase on Monday

Here is my little posy as not much going on in my garden:

 Fern, Viburnum and Hebe

However I did make a more cheerful display with my gardening group at http://gardenersfridayforum.blogspot.com

Each Monday Cathy at Rambling In The Garden encourages us to share a vase highlighting what is growing in our gardens.

So flower arrangers and wannabe flower arrangers, why not give it a go?

In A Vase On Monday, which is also known simply as IAVOM, is graciously hosted by Cathy of Rambling in the Garden. Anyone can participate. Simply arrange flowers or other material from the garden in a vase, and share pictures of it with commentary and a link back to Rambling in the Garden. Also, leave a comment at Rambling in the Garden with a link back to your post.
